Mold

Mold is a large type of fungus that grows in the form of filaments. These filaments are multicellular and are called hyphae. 

Molds are known for causing biodegradation of natural materials, which is usually unwanted, especially when food is spoiled and/or property is damaged. Some molds can even cause disease in both humans and animals.

There are thousands of known mold species, all of which have different lifestyles. The following are some common mold species:
